WELCOME TO EL ENCUENTRO FLY FISHING – THE HOME OF PATAGONIA FLY FISHING
El Encuentro Fly Fishing offers an extraordinary opportunity to live the true Patagonia fly fishing experience with their Argentine team that has guided anglers from all over the world since 1985–longer than anyone else in the region.

El Encuentro delivers exclusive access to the very best private waters on vast private ranches. Their long-established working relationships provide access to the best lodges with the highest standards of service and accommodations.

In addition, El Encuentro Fly Fishing maintains a remote, comfortable Safari Base Camp which accesses virtually untouched waters for trophy rainbow and brook trout.
In addition to the fishing, you can also opt to hunt California quail over dogs. This is an extraordinary opportunity to hunt and fish in the same proximity and in the same day. Imagine bagging a dozen California quail in the morning and casting to trophy rainbow, brown or brook trout in the afternoon. Unbelievable? Not in Argentina's southern Patagonia.

Introduced in southern Patagonia in the 1940s, the California quail population has continued to grow with coveys now ranging from 25 to 100 birds or more. Through longstanding generational ties, Benjamin Beale and family have secured access to many large estancias with prime fishing waters and quail habitat. Some of these private sanctuaries exceed 400,000 acres and have had little or no previous hunting or fishing pressure.
The best hunting and fishing combo season is mid-March through April – the region's fall – when the current season's hatch of birds is mature and trophy brown trout are moving to spawning waters with rainbow and brook trout feeding aggressively.
El Encuentro Fly fishing offers the most complete fly fishing program in central Patagonia. Don't sweat the details, we have taken care of everything so you can focus on catching Patagonia's amazing trout.
Our team is led by Benjamin Beale, third generation of the Beale family that has guided fishermen for more than 30 years. Benjamin and brother Tomas work as fishing guides. Cecillia, their younger sister and former fishing guide, now hosts and manages El Encuentro, the family lodge on the banks of the Rio Futaleufú.

With El Encuentro Fly Fishing you will fish a wide variety of the finest waters with professional, friendly, bilingual, Argentine guides.
Simply put, you will fish the right waters at the right time with the best guides.
The grandmother of the current generation of Beales purchased the property that would become El Encuentro Lodge in the early 1980s. She built the lodge to serve as a venue for her children and grandchildren and named it El Encuentro, which translates to "meeting place".

Michael, a seasoned guide, taught all five of his children about fly fishing, wildlife and the land they call home. Each of the siblings plays a significant role in the success of the El Encuentro Fly Fishing that involves some of the best and most traditional estancias in the area.

TRAVEL LOGISTICS (Subject to Change)
All of our great fishing programs are located in the Patagonia province of Chubut, Argentina. The main city providing services to this area is Esquel, Argentina (airport code EQS). Aerolineas Argentinas is the only airline which offers a daily flight to the Esquel airport from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Flying to Argentina
United, American, Delta, Aerolíneas Argentinas, and LAN have non-stop service to Buenos Aires from Miami, New York, Atlanta, Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston. Your flights should be booked from your city of origin to Buenos Aires.
Buenos Aires has two airports, Ezeiza (EZE, international), and Aeroparque (AEP, domestic). All international flights arrive into Ezeiza, and all domestic flights in Argentina depart from Aeroparque. Therefore it is necessary to transfer from the international airport to the domestic airport for your flight to Patagonia. Our agents in Buenos Aires can provide this service.
Depending on the time your international flight lands, you might be able to travel directly to Patagonia on the same day. Please keep in mind that you should plan at least one hour to clear immigrations and customs, one hour to transfer between airports, and one hour ahead of your flight time for check in for your domestic flight to Patagonia. You may choose to overnight in Buenos Aires to tour the city and enjoy one of the many fine hotels and restaurants. South American Fly Fishing can assist you with those arrangements.
In either Esquel or Bariloche, a representative from El Encuentro Fly Fishing will meet you and greet you for your transfer by car to the lodge.
